A tropical storm drops a season's worth of leaves, sand and rainwater into a pool in one night, and the power is often off for the pump. You have about three days in summer heat before that becomes a green pool. Storm cleanup gets the debris out, the water back in range and the filter breathing again.
One visit, sometimes two.
Most storm cleanups are a long single visit. A pool that sat without power for a week is a green pool recovery, and we'll tell you that up front.
Debris out
Large debris by hand and net, then skim, then floor vacuum. Skimmer and pump baskets emptied, often more than once.
Water level and dilution
Rain dilutes everything. We drain to the right level if needed, then retest, because the chemistry you had before the storm is gone.
Filter and pressure
Filter cleaned or backwashed, pressure checked. If the equipment took water or debris, that's a licensed repair and we'll say so.
Rebalance and shock
Chlorine, pH and alkalinity rebuilt, with a shock dose if the water sat warm and unfiltered.

Should I drain my pool before a hurricane?
No. A full pool is heavy and stays put; an empty pool can pop out of the ground when the water table rises. Lower the water a few inches at most if heavy rain is forecast, and leave it at that.
What should I do before the storm?
Remove loose furniture, toys and the skimmer lid. Shock the pool and run the pump the day before if you have power. Turn the pump breaker off before the wind arrives, and do not cover the pool; a cover under a fallen limb is worse than an open pool.
How soon can you come after a storm?
Existing weekly customers are first, in route order, as soon as roads are open. New requests are worked in after that. Send a photo with your request and we will give you a day.
What if there is a branch or shingles in the pool?
Large debris removal is part of a storm cleanup. Damage to the pool shell, screen enclosure or equipment is not; those go to the right licensed trade, and we will tell you which one.
Is the price the same as a regular visit?
No. Storm cleanups are quoted per pool because the work ranges from an hour of extra skimming to a two-day green recovery. Weekly customers get priority and a lower rate.
